Ravens Ski Club is the North East of England's premiere ski racing club. We train at Silksworth Ski Slope in Sunderland every Wednesday from 7-9pm. Ravens has a comprehensive race development programme with five coaching groups and seven coaches. Our race development team train every Sunday from 10-12pm as well as monthly trips to Xscape in Castleford to train on snow. More success in Manchester for Team Ravens!

More success for Ravens Racers in the GBR Race 3 and 4 in Manchester


Andrew, Claude and Valentino were 1st, 2nd and 3rd Masters respectively, with Lois 3rd U12,  Millie was 4th U14 and Francesca was 1st  U16 and  3rd Overall.  

Unfortunately Laurence and Ben didn’t complete the 2nd run



In GBR race 4 on Sunday, Andrew and Rossi were 1st and  2nd Masters, Lois 2nd U12, Millie 4th U14, and  Francesca 1st U16 and 3rd Overall.

Laurence was a respectable 14th U16 and unfortunately Ben crashed in run 1 and his ski came off in run 2, but he hiked back up both times to complete the course. Well Done Ben!

Ravens Club National 2nd June 2012


It has been confirmed that Ravens will be holding the slope Club National on 2nd June 2012.



Everyone is welcome in all categories from beginners to experts, so sharpen up your skis, tighten down your boots and come down for some fun.

As usual there will be prizes for all age categories, girls, boys and masters.



There will also be a host of other activities available, things to buy, refreshments and food provided by a local catering company.

As well as the race all first time club national entries will receive a free race training session the week before the race and when joining the club get 14 months membership for the price of 12.

More Ravens success in the GBR Race in Norfolk 




Well done once again to all the Ravens who went down to Norfolk to compete in the GBR Outdoor Race 1 and 2.


The tally of honours was as follows:-



Race 1, Francesca Lee was 1st U16 and 4th Overall, Rory Farren was 2nd U16 and 13th Overall and Claude Farren was 2nd Master and 15th Overall. 

They all qualified for the dual slalom race consisting of the top 16 female and top 32 male racers.

On Sunday 6th May, Francesca was 1st U16 and 5th Overall, Claude was 3rd Master and 20th Overall, and unfortunately Rory skied out in the 1st run - hard luck Rory.

Ravens take the honours at Pendle


Congratulations to all the skiers who went down to Pendle to ski in the PENDLE SKI CLUB Club National on Saturday and Peak Performance Snowsports Club National on Sunday.

Highlights of the Saturday were a 3rd place for Adam O'Mara (above, left) in the fiercely contested Under 18 category, well done Adam.


Other highlights came from the Jackson family who won all of their age categories, U12, U14 and Masters, well done again.




And a special well done to Roddy Weir who competed in his first Club National and came an impressive 31st overall, well done son.
